Whether downhill or cross country, the skiing and snow boarding is superb in the
Snowy Mountains. There are a number of superb ski resorts in the area, you can
access Thredbo and Perisher Blue within half an hour from Silvertop. If you are
into back country touring the snow covers an area greater than Switzerland in

Australia’s high country offers superb Alpine walking. The steep western
faces of Kosciusko National park with their panoramic views are matched in magnificence
only by the carpets of wild flowers in the spring and summer. In other areas of
the mountains you can walk over alpine grass plains surrounded by eucalypt forests.
Get a feel for the history of the area by visiting old cattlemen’s huts.

At Silvertop we have a large resident population of Eastern Grey kangaroos, Bennett’s
wallabies, echidnas, hairy nosed wombats and there are occasionally sightings
of emus and brumbies. With the Kosciuszko National Park close by you have the
opportunity for all sorts of “wild” life experiences – the staff
